01 · The Ingredient

What Is Niacinamide?

Vitamin B3 in a form skin knows well. Here is what it is, what it supports and why it suits so many skin types.

The Source

A form of vitamin B3

Water-soluble, stable and easy for skin to work with.

Niacinamide is one of the active forms of vitamin B3. Skin uses it in the processes that keep it balanced and working well, which is why it appears in so many formulas, from serums to niacinamide face masks.

On some ingredient lists, it appears as nicotinamide.

02 · The Material

Where the Serum Meets the Sheet

Niacinamide is only part of the story. In our bio-cellulose masks, it is carried in a rich, non-water based serum, then held against your skin by a sheet made to let it go.

  • Non-water based built on botanical extracts
  • 100% coconut bio-cellulose sheet
  • 15 to 20 min for the serum to transfer

The coconut bio-cellulose sheet

A serum built on botanicals

Most skincare starts with water. Our bio-cellulose niacinamide masks start with botanical extracts instead: coconut in After Party™, evening primrose in The Gold Mask™ and The Diamond Mask™. That base carries higher concentrations of vitamins and antioxidants, so the formula isn't diluted before it reaches your skin. It is part of the science behind our formulas.

A sheet made to transfer

Each sheet is 100% coconut bio-cellulose, naturally fermented into a fine, gel-like material. It adheres to the face like a second skin, with few folds or air pockets, keeping the concentrated serum against your skin for the full 15 to 20 minutes. Here is why most skincare never gets that far.

Clean by design

Every bio-cellulose sheet is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and silicone-free, so it sits comfortably on reactive and blemish-prone skin. Every STARSKIN® formula is cruelty-free and made in Korea. Here is what clean skincare really means.

  • Hypoallergenic Sheet
  • Non-Comedogenic
  • Silicone-Free
  • Cruelty-Free

Rich yet non-greasy. After removing the mask, pat the remaining serum into your skin, no rinsing needed.

A rich serum, held where it counts.

    How to Use

    Twenty minutes, four steps

Tip: refrigerate the unopened sachet for 10 minutes before use to enhance the cooling effect.

    1. Cleanse

Cleanse your face and pat dry.

    2. Prepare

Before opening, use your fingertips to spread the serum evenly through the sachet. Take out the mask, unfold it and remove the protective layers.

    3. Apply

Smooth the mask over your entire face so there are few wrinkles or air pockets.

    4. Relax and press in

Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the mask and gently pat the remaining serum into your skin. Do not rinse.

Use 1 to 2 times a week. For very sensitive or allergic skin, a patch test is recommended.

    FAQ

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that works on three things at once. It helps skin tone look more even, helps pores look less visible and supports the skin barrier, so skin holds moisture and feels more comfortable. That range is why it is used so widely, from serums to niacinamide face masks.

Yes, for all three. On oily skin, it is linked to a more balanced look and less visible pores. On dry skin, it supports the barrier so skin holds on to moisture. On sensitive skin, it is generally well tolerated, though a patch test is always recommended.

Yes. The idea that niacinamide and vitamin C cancel each other out comes from older research using unstable formulas, and current formulations work well together. Niacinamide also pairs easily with retinol and hyaluronic acid, which is why it fits into almost any routine.

A mask leaves skin looking fresher and more radiant straight away. The deeper changes, like a more even tone and less visible pores, build with regular use, and most studies measure them after around four weeks.

Niacinamide is not known to clog pores, and it is often chosen for blemish-prone skin because it helps oily areas look more balanced. In our bio-cellulose masks, the sheet itself is non-comedogenic too.

Niacinamide serums can be used daily, but a mask is a concentrated treatment. For After Party, The Gold Mask and The Diamond Mask, we recommend 1 to 2 times a week, leaving it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Here is how to use sheet masks for the best results.
